Artist/Poet Support Fund

(Click to download)

At The Black Art Hub CIC, we are committed to ensuring that all artists and poets have the opportunity to showcase their talents, regardless of financial constraints. Our Artist/Poet Support Fund is designed to assist participants in our exhibitions with essential costs such as materials, packaging, postage, art frames, and travel.

We recognize the challenges faced by those with limited resources, and our support fund prioritizes applicants who can demonstrate their need for assistance. Whether you are a student, in receipt of benefits, have disabilities, or face other financial challenges, this fund is here to support you in bringing your art or poetry to life.

Please note that all applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis and must be submitted alongside your exhibition submission form.

The support fund is limited, so we encourage early application. We also have a small pot of financial support available to cover printing and packaging costs, ensuring that your work can be exhibited without financial strain.

We invite all eligible participants to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to share your unique voice and vision. Together, we can make sure that every artist has a platform to shine.

"Show Off Your Brilliance: 6 Essential Tips for Artists and Poets in Exhibition"

Exhibiting our works is essential for showcasing artistic talent, fostering cultural dialogue, and engaging with a wider audience.

It provides artists with a platform to present their creativity and connect with the community, while also enhancing their visibility and career opportunities.

Here are five tips for a successful exhibition:

  1. Promote Widely: Use social media, local press, and community networks to publicise your exhibition.

  2. Engage the Audience: Incorporate interactive elements or host live events to make the experience more engaging.

  3. Prepare Professionally: Ensure all artworks/ Poetry performances/ Videos are well-presented, framed if applicable, and labelled clearly.

  4. Use subtitles for your marketing and reels to make your artistry, more accessible for all.

  5. Network Actively: Use the event to build connections with other artists, critics, and potential patrons.

  6. Follow-Up: Collect feedback and follow up with visitors to maintain relationships and gather insights for future exhibitions.
