Your donation of used books makes a real difference. We're building a vital resource that will serve students, researchers, artists, and community members for generations to come.

Condition Requirements:

We accept gently used books in good, readable condition.

Minor wear is fine, but we cannot accept:

  • Books with water damage or mould

  • Books with significant missing pages

  • Books that are falling apart​

How to Donate:

Option 1: Drop Off in Person at The Black Art Hub, Nucleus Arts Centre, 272 High Street, Chatham, Kent ME4 4BP

​

Weekdays: 10.30 am - 4 pm 

Saturdays: 10.30 am - 12.30 pm

Please leave your donations at the Centre's reception (door next to the gallery) or contact us first to arrange a drop-off time: theblackarthub@gmail.com

Option 2: Post Books to Us: The Black Art Hub CIC, 14A Nucleus Arts Centre, 272 High Street, Chatham, Kent ME4 4BP

Option 3: Collection Service. For large donations (20+ books) in the Medway area, we may be able to collect. Contact us to arrange.​​

​After You Donate:

  • We'll review your donation

  • Suitable books are added to our collection

  • You'll receive a thank-you acknowledgement

  • If requested, we can provide a donation receipt for your records

The Benjamin Zephaniah Library is raising £35,000 to secure community space for 3 years, purchase essential books, and launch our digital lending platform in June 2028.
