The Black Art Hub CIC is inviting applications from experienced, thoughtful, and community-minded people to join our adult advisory board.

​

The Advisory Board brings together people with professional expertise, lived experience, and a genuine commitment to supporting Black art, culture, heritage, and creative development.

 

Advisors contribute knowledge, challenges, connections, and constructive guidance to help strengthen our organisation, programmes and long-term impact.

​

We are particularly interested in people with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Arts, culture and creative practice

  • Black British history, heritage and archives

  • Education, curriculum development or youth engagement

  • Community engagement and partnership development

  • Business, fundraising or corporate partnerships

  • Literature, publishing, festivals or spoken word

  • Broadcasting, podcasting, digital media or communications

  • Human resources, governance or organisational development

  • Wellbeing, safeguarding or therapeutic creative practice

  • Accessibility, disability inclusion or neurodiversity

  • Marketing, press, public relations or audience development

 

About the role

​

Advisory Board members are expected to:

  • Attend up to six online advisory board meetings each year.

  • Allow approximately 90 minutes for each meeting.

  • Read relevant papers or updates before meetings.

  • Offer constructive, independent and respectful advice.

  • Contribute knowledge, ideas or introductions where appropriate.

  • Support The Black Art Hub’s values, safeguarding responsibilities and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

  • Declare any actual or potential conflicts of interest.

  • Maintain confidentiality where required.

 

This is currently a voluntary advisory position. Reasonable expectations, responsibilities and boundaries will be set out in an advisory board agreement before appointment.

Advisory Board membership does not automatically make an individual a legal director, employee or authorised representative of The Black Art Hub CIC.
