Professional -  Nadia Perrotta

Nadia Perrotta is a filmmaker, visual artist, writer, and founder of House of Stars, a creative platform supporting storytelling and emerging creatives.

Beginning her artistic career in Italy in 2006, Nadia's early portrait work focused on members of the African migrant community, giving visibility to stories often overlooked. Over time, her practice evolved through photography, video art, documentary, installation, and experimental moving image, creating a body of work deeply connected to migration, memory, landscape, and belonging.

Her film H.J. and the Mermaid of the Estuary, featured as part of Medway & Kent Lens 2026, is a visually striking piece of poetic filmmaking developed in collaboration with poet Barry Fentiman.

Created during Nadia's recovery from severe Covid, the work uses symbolism, metaphor, and the landscapes of the Thames Estuary to explore transformation, hybridity, resilience, and the challenge of navigating a changing world.

The film demonstrates how moving image can become a powerful form of visual poetry, connecting personal experience with wider social and cultural themes.

Student - Ché Deedigan

Ché Deedigan is a visual artist specialising in portrait photography and moving image. Originally from the Southwest and now based in South London, his work is recognised for its cinematic lighting, hyperreal aesthetics, and thoughtful exploration of identity and contemporary culture.

His photography has been featured in publications including PhotoVogue, i-D Japan, The Face, and To Be Magazine, while his award-winning debut film, The Pen, gained recognition both in the UK and internationally.

His experimental short film Where Boys Go follows two brothers navigating different paths towards adulthood while searching for meaning and purpose.

Through a blend of documentary realism and fictional storytelling, the film examines inherited ideas of masculinity, adventure, discipline, and brotherhood.

Accompanied by music from Hani Hooper, the work offers a compelling reflection on the myths young men are taught about what it means to become men.
