it is a joy to announce our 'Intersectionality' Exhibition! We are excited to invite Black British visual artists and poets from across the UK to participate in this landmark event, showcasing your talent from 16th September to 5th November, across multiple Medway venues and online via our YouTube Channel.
This year, we are celebrating, the rich diversity among Black British artists and poets, with no specific theme, to enable freedom of creativity. Instead, we aim to highlight the intersectionality of identities within the Black British community, showcasing the unique perspectives that each artist and poet brings to the table.

With lots on in the local community from online educational live discussions, to Meet the Artists sessions, stunning artworks to see and creative workshops, all FREE, it is not to be Missed!

TBAH CIC's six-point timeline for the opening of the Benjamin Library in October 2025

October 2024: Launch fundraising campaign

February 2025: design plans for the library space, focusing on creating an inviting and functional environment.

April 2025: Start the collection of works by African, Caribbean, and Afro-Latino artists, poets and scholars, with a focus on Black British resources

July 2025: Begin the installation of library infrastructure and technology to support research and community events.

September 2025: Staff training and final preparations for the library's operations, including setting up a user-friendly cataloguing system.

October 2025: Grand opening of the Benjamin Library, featuring a launch event with guest speakers, performances, and workshops to celebrate the library's role in the community and BHM 2025

The Black Art Hub is a non-profit Community Hub, located in Medway (Kent) founded by local Black British artist 'Michi Masumi'.
Its Aims and Purpose is to provide a platform for grassroots Black British Visual Artists and Poets to share experiences and exhibit work.
Develop their artistry through skilling, employability, peer reviews, and creative collaborations.
Showcasing the rich diversities within the UK's Black Communities.
Supporting and encouraging grassroots Black British Management, Community Development, and Black British Narration through Art.
Start up Creative Business advice and support
Further and Higher educational creative routes workshops.
Research projects specifically aimed at contemporary Black British Visual Arts and Poetry.

'The Black Art Hub' believes all aspects of Black Diversity should be more accessible within the Art Community, Institutions, Museums, and Galleries.
Most importantly our Art needs to be seen in all environments, big and small across the UK
Being a Black British Visual Artist/Poet has a different meaning to each
Person. Black Expression should not be put into a box nor limited to one representation. There is space for us All.
